WhatsApp Message Disappearing Feature
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that WhatsApp users would soon have all-new one-on-one communications immediately wiped from the service to enable disappearing messages.
They said that people who use the Meta-owned messaging service can now choose how long before a message is deleted. When the feature was first released in November last year, users could only make messages disappear after seven days, and now, users can choose to make messages disappear at any time.
If you want to get rid of them in the future, you’ll be able to do so after 24 hours or 90 days. The new functionality was previously said to be in the works.
WhatsApp says that by default, disappearing messages will be turned on, and this won’t affect existing chats. The disappearing messages feature is turned on when you start a new one-on-one conversation. When you do this, a message will say that it’s on by default, so your contacts don’t think it is personal. You can also turn off the setting for individual chats.
Although the new default setting doesn’t apply to group chats, WhatsApp says it has added a new option when setting up groups so that you can turn on disappearing messages.

More about the Whatsapp message disappearing feature
Disappearing Messages is an optional feature that you can turn on to prevent other people from seeing your messages.
As soon as you enable Disappearing Messages, you can choose how long messages will disappear after they are sent. You can set them to disappear 24 hours, seven days, or even 90 days after they are shipped. The last choice only affects new messages in the chat, and this setting won’t change messages you’ve already sent or received in the conversation. In a one-on-one chat, either person can turn disappearing messages on or off. In a group chat, anyone in the group can hang disappearing messages on or off, and they can do this at any time. However, a group admin can change the group settings so that only the group admins can turn disappearing messages on or off. This means that only the group admins can do this.
For 24 hours, seven days, or 90 days, the message won’t show up in the chat if the person who sent it doesn’t open WhatsApp. However, until WhatsApp is opened, the preview of the message might show up in the notifications that show up on phones.
When you respond to a message, the first message is shown. A disappearing message might stay in the chat for a certain amount of time after you reply to it. Because disappearing messages are turned off in the chat where the notice was forwarded, the message won’t go away in that chat. It will be included in the user’s backup even though a message will disappear if they make a backup before the message does. Disappearing messages will be wiped out if a user restores from a backup.
