With a larger dead zone, you have to keep moving the analog stick until you finally get a reaction in the game. This allows you to target your enemies more precisely which is what is important for controller gamers due to the crossplay between PC, PS4 and Xbox One .
Since update 1.20 of April 29, 2020, you can change the deadzone directly in the options of Modern Warfare / Warzone. You can find the setting under Options → Controller → Dead area.
