Sponges are an interesting resource in Minecraft that players can use to remove water and turn the sponge into a wet sponge.
The unique feature of sponges is that they can be reused. When a sponge absorbs water, it becomes a wet sponge, which can be turned back into a regular sponge. Because there aren’t many blocks that can be reversed, the sponge block stands out.
Sponges have the ability to absorb water from up to seven blocks away, which is a significant amount of water.
Essentially, it’s a sponge covered in diamonds on the crafting table that, when placed in an ocean, creates a permanent large air bubble unless the sponge is broken. Pistons can move the sponge, and the bubble will follow suit. Also, because it is SUPER SPONGE, the sponge never becomes Wet Sponge.

Sponges are no longer craftable in Minecraft version 1.16, but they can still be found. Wet sponges can be found in a variety of places. If a player kills an elder guardian, he or she will drop one damp sponge. A sponge room may be found at several Ocean Monuments. There are around thirty moist sponges in each sponge chamber.
Sponge rooms can be found while exploring an Ocean Monument, and when crushed with a hoe, sponges will break faster.
