How To Start An Online Business For Real

With all the online business success stories you’ve read over a couple of months (or years), you may be pretty drummed up to get started with your own internet marketing business. You’ve decided, you will launch your own blog or authority website on a subject that you know and love, but did you ever got started?

Note the word “decided” as 99% of the people in the world are trapped in the stage right after they made the decision and they just never follow through because they think they’re not big enough to conquer their goals.

If you’ve been trying to build a business on the internet in the last few years, chances are you’ve already decided but since you don’t think that you’re great enough to succeed, you never really got started.

It’s FEAR that’s keeping the most of us from starting something great, thinking that we have to be great to get started but FEAR is nothing but “false evidences appearing real” and most of the times we’re so scared of these preempted beliefs and we don’t think we’re big enough to overcome these false realities we believe to be real and we think that we have to be great first in order to achieve something great.

The truth is…

You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.

– Les Brown

Les Brown is right, we will never be great if we don’t get started. This quote is one of the most powerful quotes that I live by, and it applies to almost every aspect of your life.

Most of the road blocks that are stopping would-be successful internet marketers are the technicalities involved in creating and running a website. They don’t think that they can learn stuff like WordPress installation, html, link building and what not. But worst, most people who wants to start with an online business are afraid that they might not succeed.

Bloggging and website publishing is the cheapest business that you can start. You don’t have to rent a storefront nor do you have to purchase inventories; all you have to invest is a couple of bucks for your domain name and web hosting and TIME.

All the information you need are usually accessible online, you may need to pay for some online courses but it wouldn’t cost you as much when you’re building a brick and mortar business offline, just imagine having to pay $1000 a month in rent when you’re going to open up a store. That $1000 will get you started with some very decent content for your website if you’re hiring people to write for you. Content that will forever drive traffic to your website.

Starting an online business isn’t as complicated as you think but don’t expect that it will make you rich overnight as it won’t. Think of it as a real business, offline businesses takes 2-3 years to breakeven so don’t expect your 10 pages to make you rich overnight.

The real key to a passive income generating website is in building a very huge website that it’s impossible for search engines to ignore you.

Don’t try to make it look great at first, just grab a decent template and start working on content everyday whenever you have the time or hire writers to write for you if you have the money to do so. Be careful though as you want your writers to deliver your message and make sure that they’re writing plagiarism-free content for your website.

If you’re going to rely on free traffic, be ready to invest the next two to five years of your life in building pages after pages on your website as even though your website is already earning money, you have to keep on feeding fresh content so both search engines and your target audience will have a reason to go back to your website.

Starting an online business isn’t about the ability to design a website, that’s the easy part, it’s really about getting started and keeping at it even if it’s not making money yet.

And… you don’t have to be great to get started!

Just get started and steer your business in the right direction as you go along.
