What is Google Translate?

However, some Android users have reported that Google Translate Camera does not work. When they try to access the camera, they get the error code 807.

Google Translate camera feature not working

#1. Permissions for Google Translate should be checked

The first step is to double-check all of the permissions that Translate requires in order to use its various features. The focus in this case is on obtaining permission to use the camera. This is what you must do:

  • Open the Settings menu.
  • Apps and notifications can be chosen.
  • Select the all apps option
  • From the list of available apps, find and open Google Translate.
  • Select permission
  • Make sure Google Translate has permission to use the camera. Grant all permissions for the sake of troubleshooting and look for improvements.

#2. Clear all the app’s cache and data

The next step is to delete the Google Translate app’s cache and data. There’s a chance the locally stored files have become corrupted, and the best way to fix this is to wipe them. Follow the steps below:

  • Go to Settings > Apps and notifications > All apps > Google Translate 
  • Select storage
  • Clear all the cache and data and reboot the device.

#3. Reinstall Google Translate app

You could also try reinstalling the software. After downloading the latest version of Google Translate from the Play Store, some users were able to get Google Translate Camera to work. This is what you must do:

  • On the Home Screen or in the app drawer, tap and hold the Google Translate icon.
  • Drag the Google Translate app to the top and then uninstall it.
  • Now go to google translate app and then google translate app again.
  • Give all the permission to the google translate app like allow camera to take photos or allow google translate to record voice and other things.

#4. With an APK, you can revert to a previous version

Updates and upgrades are always welcome, but in the process of progressing, a few nasty bugs can emerge. Although Google appears to be aware of the issue, you can try rolling back to a previous version of Google Translate until it is fixed. To instal an older Google Translate APK, follow the steps below:

  • At first, uninstall the google translate app.
  • Open any browser of your choice on your mobile and just simply navigate
  • Download any other previous you want to download but don’t download a too much older version.
  • Allow installation from a third party source of your choice.
  • Finally, install the app and look for some new improvements.

#5. Temporarily use Google lens

If Google Translate Camera on your Android isn’t working, you can use Google Lens while Google Translate Camera is offline. Translation support recently arrived with Google Lens, which could be helpful.
