PUBG Mobile is set to expand in the near future, bringing something new to Android and iOS users. The latest limited-time event, dubbed PUBG Mobile Ancient Secret, will kick off soon, bringing massive changes to some of the maps.
An Ancient Secret Event has been announced for PUBG Mobile.
The PUBG Mobile Ancient Secret event follows the Jungle Adventure event from a few months ago, which sparked a lot of debate in the community and around the world. The event was announced this week on the official Twitter account for the mobile battle royale game.
The limited-time PUBG Mobile Ancient Secret event will be similar to Jungle Adventure. It will add new surprises and features to a standard battle royale map that did not exist prior to its release. The main difference this time is that there are multiple maps to choose from.
Unlike the Jungle Adventure game mode, which only affected one battle royale map, the Ancient Secret game mode event will affect both Erangel and Miramar, the game’s first two maps. These two classic maps will be updated with some new features and changes.
The Ancient Secret theme appears to be heavily influenced by Egyptian culture, and both maps will feature temples for players to explore. These temple locations are intriguing because they will introduce a new location for players and allow them to move around the map.
Jungle Adventure is a similar event.
There’s a chance that you’ll come across one of these ancient temples floating in the sky that you can explore. But, according to Dot Esports, who detailed what is to come in this new event, that is only the beginning of the details of the new limited-time event mode.
This is one event mode, like the Jungle Adventure game mode, where you won’t necessarily enter a special playlist or queue to see what it has to offer. You’ll have to settle for some standard battle royale matches in Erangel or Miramar instead. Instead of a standard battle royale match, you’ll have a chance to play an Ancient Secret match.
If this is the special PUBG Mobile Ancient Secret game mode, a short cut scene will appear at the start of the match to let you know. After that, players will be able to explore the entire map and see the various temple icons that will show you where they are located.
Though details on what the temples will look like and what they will offer players are still scarce at this time, we do know some of the secrets they will hold. Players will be able to try out a new type of gameplay that will differ from the standard battle royale pacing.
There Will Be Puzzles In This Ancient Secret
This is fantastic news for those players who have grown tired of the game’s core loot, shoot, and survive mentality. Inside these temples, players will find puzzles and other features that will require them to put on their thinking caps in order to complete.
There’s plenty of loot to be had in one of the several temples that will appear in this special game mode, but you’ll have to unlock them first. You can do this in a couple of ways: either through a simple puzzle or a riddle that you must solve.
If you can solve these puzzles, you’ll be rewarded with some fantastic prizes. According to reports, the loot will not be legendary, but players can expect a good set of gear from the various temples that will appear in the game.
In the match, one temple will be larger than the others and serve a unique purpose. After the match has begun, the temple will float into the sky and spawn a boss enemy for the players to battle.
Players can challenge this boss enemy with loot found in the temple or elsewhere to defeat them for even better loot than found in the rest of the temple. This will only be for a short period of time. Players will then be sent back to the mainland once the boss fight is over.
The temples in PUBG Mobile Ancient Secret will provide an epic PvE experience that PUBG Mobile and its console and PC predecessors have sorely lacked. Regrettably, the special version of the regular maps will only be available on two maps for a limited time.
This event will also include some challenges that players can complete for some unique rewards during that limited time period. At this time, the rewards and challenges are unknown, but they are likely to be related to and themed around the Ancient Secret game mode.
Thankfully, players won’t have to wait long to try out the new Ancient Secret versions of Erangel and Miramar, as they’ll be available on August 4th. We don’t know when it will end, but it should be here for a few weeks this season. As the start date approaches, stay tuned for more information.
