Welcome to the Spooky Soirée
There’s nothing quite like the chills and thrills of a Halloween-themed gaming update. When I first fired up PUBG Mobile after grabbing the 4.0 patch, I’d barely landed before a haunting melody signaled something was different on the battlegrounds. The “Spooky Soirée” update, live as of September 3, 2025, really pulls players into a mystical, ghostly world, full of unique challenges and tactical twists.
What’s New in 4.0?
I can’t help but admire how PUBG Mobile keeps things fresh. With 4.0, they’ve gone all in for Halloween: “Spooky Soirée” introduces fantasy locations like Magic Mirror Castle and the Wraithmore Mansion. There’s a new Ghosty companion (yes, it flies—and heals you!), new weapons, improved graphics, anti-cheat upgrades, and even revamped ways to team up. Cycle 7 Season 22 also kicks off with new ranked rewards, more balanced gameplay, and a totally reimagined ranked system.
Exploring the Spooky Soirée Mode
Once I loaded “Spooky Soirée,” it felt like wandering into a magical, haunted festival. The map’s been altered: there’s a foggy chill as you approach locations like the Magic Mirror Castle—imagine something inspired by Harry Potter but with undead around every corner. Epic loot and supernatural abilities pop up all around, but you’ll want to watch your back…prankster ghosts and even Pumpkin Zombie bosses lurk in the mist.
If you want heart-pounding fights, head over to Wraithmore Mansion. For secret stashes and a quieter loot run, the Haunted Residential Area is your ticket. I got ambushed by a clever squad near the magic mirror, adding to the fun unpredictability.
Ghosty Companion & Magic Broom
You’ll need to meet Ghosty, the new companion—a spectral sidekick that gives a boost whether you’re fighting or looting. Its skills include:
- Floating Balloon lets you or teammates fly for quick retreats or flanks.
- Guardian Shield pops a magical barrier to knock enemies back.
- Heal/Armor keeps you fighting longer.
And that Magic Broom? What a ride! It’s perfect for quick rotations or surprise attacks, easily moving two players around the map and even pushing back enemies with its special sweep attack. Sometimes, it feels a little over-the-top, but I’m not complaining when I sweep to safety just in time.
Haunted Locations & Special Events
PUBG Mobile didn’t stop at just a fresh coat of paint. Haunted sections like Rock Revue Graveyard host mini-concerts from ghostly musicians—loot up after the show or mess with the performance for strategic bonuses. Magic Mirror Castle, King’s Crates, and collectible Soirée Candies make exploring worthwhile, offering rare loot and supernatural perks.
The devs have added temporary boosts like Ghost Cake (yum?), magical items, and loads of limited-edition event rewards for those who keep chasing the mysteries.
Weapons, Cosmetics, and Seasonal Loot
Let’s be honest—new weapons are usually my favorite part. 4.0’s Mortar weapon brings real tactical punch, firing two ways: direct or indirect, with an impressive 200m range. Equip attachments and brace for the splash damage!
Cosmetic fans have plenty to collect: Halloween Revival Skins, magical MP7 skins, wizard robes, undead cosmetics, lobby decorations, and more—all dripping with spooky style. Grab Soirée Candies and trade them in for rare outfits before they disappear.
| Item Type | Notable Additions |
|---|---|
| Weapons | Mortar (portable, 2 fire modes, attachments) |
| Vehicles | Magic Broom (2 passengers, dash, enemy knockback) |
| Cosmetics | Halloween revival skins, Day of the Dead outfits |
| Loot & Items | Ghost Cake, broom, magical boosters, Soirée Candies |
Installation Guide
Want to jump in? It’s easy, but do watch the staggered release:
- On Android or iOS, go to Google Play or App Store, find PUBG Mobile, and hit “Update.”
- Android users: enable “install from unknown sources,” then reinstall via APK+OBB if you’ve got issues.
- Sometimes, one platform gets the update hours ahead—so some patience helps.
Impact & First Impressions
There’s just something about Halloween in PUBG that brings the fun. The Spooky Soirée update not only packs in new content and balance tweaks but really revitalizes the social side too. I’ve made new friends (and a few ghostly enemies) using the improved team/social features. Performance is smoother across my mid-range devices, and I appreciate the stricter anti-cheat systems a lot. If you’re a returning player who’s been away—now’s the perfect time to get back.
